BetterBat – Assessment of the Technical and Systemic Fit of Battery Technologies for Battery-relevant Applications

The mission of the BMBF competence cluster »Battery utilization concepts« is to support the development of new material and cell concepts and to shorten innovation cycles and time-to-market for new materials and cells. The focal point C1: »Requirement profiles of essential battery applications« in the thematic area »Battery system evaluation« sees itself here as a link both between the individual thematic areas and clusters of the umbrella concept and between industry, politics and (»external«) research.

The special feature of this project proposal for focal point C1 is that the user side is placed in the focus of consideration and thus the suitability of battery applications is evaluated consistently and systematically from this user perspective. This should enable target-oriented research and development, shorten the time-to-market accordingly and reduce the risk of market failure.
