HyPat - Global hydrogen potential atlas for the sustainable hydrogen economy of tomorrow

Green hydrogen plays a central role in the transformation of the energy economy, industry and the transport sector towards climate neutrality. However, Germany will have to import a large part of the green hydrogen, including synthesis products, because renewable energy sources are only available to a limited extent in Germany.

The central objective of the HyPat project is to create a comprehensive, global H2 potential atlas based on a criteria grid that is as holistic as possible in order to identify the most suitable regions in the world for the partnership-based development of a green hydrogen economy.
