With the energy transition already underway and changes in mobility on the horizon, it is of great importance to develop solutions for targeted sector coupling that take advantage of the latest infrastructures. Particularly in the area of charging battery electric vehicles, it will be necessary to develop intelligent, safe and compliant solutions for various application scenarios, as both high charging power and predicted high volumes of electrical work will have to be handled. In this context, state-of-the-art technology is to be built upon by deploying smart meter gateways on the power grid side. This is precisely where the joint project comes in.
The LamA-connect project aims to develop a multi-vendor, smart meter-based and compliant e-mobility solution for controlling, billing and managing charging processes. Particular emphasis will be placed on compliance with calibration legislation and BSI regulations.
With the help of the project, a sustainable connection between the partners of the project and standardization is to be established and strengthened. This should ensure a smooth and early transfer of knowledge of the project results.
The project is a fundamental prerequisite for the energy and mobility revolution, since current information from the power grid and its secure transmission are just as essential for the optimal use of renewable energies as the tamper-proof control and billing of charging processes.
