Upgrade of METIS and studies on sector integration

METIS is an energy system model developed by the French company Artelys specifically for the EU Commission.

The main objective of the METIS III project is to enable in-depth analyses of the transition to a decarbonized European energy sector, taking into account its interconnections with the rest of the European economy. This requires a fundamental revision of the existing METIS model. The objectives of this assignment fall into two categories: Updating and upgrading the METIS models and datasets, preparing studies on the long-term development of the European energy system, investigating sector integration options along the entire energy value chain.
