TransHyDE: Transport Solutions for Green Hydrogen

The accelerated ramp-up of the hydrogen economy requires a suitable transport infrastructure. Especially for hydrogen imports, solutions other than gas pipelines are needed . New hydrogen transport technologies must be developed for this purpose.

The lead project TransHyDE evaluates and tests hydrogen transport solutions. It is advancing transport technologies in four demonstration projects: hydrogen transport in high-pressure containers, hydrogen-liquid transport, hydrogen transport in existing and new gas pipelines, and transport of hydrogen bound in ammonia or the carrier medium LOHC. In doing so, the lead project TransHyDE removes the implementation obstacles that exist in the construction of the transport infrastructure for hydrogen and its derivatives.
