Transformation to a carbon-neutral Germany

The project aims to determine from a scientific point of view which paths are necessary to achieve the climate protection goals and which measures need to be underpinned from a political point of view in order to implement these transformation paths. Within the scope of the project, the solution options for a greenhouse gas-neutral and sustainable society shall be further differentiated.

For this purpose, different scenarios are modeled that describe paths to complete greenhouse gas neutrality. The modeling is based on an approach that uses systemic and system dynamic analyses to consider the interdependencies between and within the physical-geological and the economic-social systems in order to make the complexity of the systems comprehensible.
