BiFlex Industry – Bidirectional Flexibility Through Fleet Power Plants in and Around Companies

Electric vehicles are a core element of the energy transition. In addition to stationary storage systems, vehicle batteries are predestined to balance load and generation in the electricity system in the short to medium term. The BiFlex-Industrie project aims to demonstrate specific use cases of bi-directional vehicles operated at commercial and industrial sites. The project partners want to develop business cases and the direct benefits of fleets of feed-in vehicles for operators. We also want to demonstrate that they can be integrated into existing systems on a large scale and become the nucleus of fleet power plants - optimising the operation of the company as well as the overarching electricity system.

The primary goal of the »BiFlex-Industrie« project is the holistic development of the potential of regenerative vehicle fleets for operators and the electricity system. The specific benefits of regenerative vehicle fleets for companies and energy industry business models are to be worked out and demonstrated so that they can be integrated into existing systems on a large scale and become the core of fleet power plants - to optimise the operation of the company and the overarching electricity system.
